The interior design of this shop is very dramatic and dark with bright yellow as the only colour and it used in the right areas for greatest effect. The wood used is the waste from the building of the store and with the lighting used it creates an interior that would photograph well. The whole design and concept does seem very social media orientated with the name and logo along with the show of making coffee.
Focusing on the experience and making a big deal about the coffee may be seen as pretentious by many people but it does add a feeling of exclusivity which other people will pay extra for. The focus on design and the concept behind the name of the shop and social media creates its own promotion and taps into one of the most important things in todays society, social media and being on top of trends. The exclusivity and personal service of this coffee shop and the process of it being made is key on the high street and making it a popular destination with younger generations through social presence and older generations who now have more time to spend for themselves and more money to spend on better quality products and experiences. It might not make enough money to be sustainable on Preston’s high street as it may be seen as pretentious but it could possibly work as a pop-up shop, creating even-more exclusivity or as part of store with my design for more artwork.
