About Me

Here’s a little bit of information about me, Pash, and my blog.

I went to university and studied Interior Design, in which I achieved a 1:1. I then went on to get my Masters with distinction in the same subject, graduating in 2019. My blog started when I was in university as a way for my tutors to see my work and research, but also to assess my branding skills. Writing on my blog was a way to stay focused on my work, and I enjoyed seeing my progress all in one place. I also used it to talk about the places I had visited and what I liked about them, mainly as a reference for myself. I didn’t take any design classes before university, but I studied humanities subjects at A-level, with a significant focus on history. This is perhaps why I found joy in researching different topics related to my design and creating a robust narrative to explain my design decisions.

I loved studying Interior Design, and it’s a subject I’m deeply passionate about. However, after my master’s degree, I struggled with confidence and didn’t pursue jobs in Interior Design. This was when house renovation began to dominate my life, just as the pandemic started. My parents’ business purchased a house, and I became the lead designer and labourer. Having grown up around many builders and construction sites, I already had more knowledge about renovation than most. But I learned even more during this time and acquired new skills like plastering, tiling, and landscape gardening. The task was challenging, but I loved it and look forward to contributing to another project like that or even spearheading one myself soon. As things began to return to normal, I started working in the kitchen at Spring Cottage. I took Food Technology at GCSE, did some food prep at a previous job, and interviewed for Bake Off (though I didn’t make the cut). However, I’ve always enjoyed cooking and baking at home, so I learned on-the-job how to cook in a commercial kitchen. It’s fun and challenging, and even though it’s unrelated to my degree, the job is rewarding. I’m surrounded by other creative individuals, which makes it even more fulfilling.
